The best part about belonging to a fanbase is that you have a gold mine of ideas to explore. The weirder the show, the better and stranger the theories. Stranger Things follows suit.

I say this, as, two months ago, a Reddit saw a fan theory mused about how Eleven could be the next baddie in the new season after being infected by the Mind Flayer after a part of its flesh got stuck on her leg.

And now, in an interview with Elle, Millie Bobby Brown said she’s very open to the prospects of an Evil Eleven.

“I kind of like it! I’m into it. I wasn’t playing it like that. We don’t know what happens in season four. I definitely don’t”, she said.

“In scenes after the Mind Flayer grabbed me, I wasn’t playing it as I was infected. I was definitely playing it as normal as possible. And maybe that’s the reason they didn’t tell me. To make it as real as possible. I don’t know.

‘Those theories freak me out a bit. Because I’m like, “Oh god, that could genuinely be true”,’ she continued. ‘And what if she is the villain? That would be so cool. Wouldn’t that be cool? I’d love to be the villain, but then I also wouldn’t because Eleven is perfect. It would suck.”

Netflix recently confirmed Stranger Things season 4 is in the works for 2020, following positive reception from audiences and critics to the show’s third outing. Filming has also been all but confirmed after a series of photos were leaked on set.

To add to the anticipation, on 30th September, Stranger Things released a trailer for its upcoming season and showed what appears to be Hopper and Eleven’s house in the woods in the Upside Down. The house’s outside light flickers and then goes out ominously, with the words ‘We’re not in Hawkins anymore’ then flashing across the screen.

The Duffer Brothers have also signed a multi-year deal to produce television series and films for Netflix. Speaking about the deal and renewal, the Duffer Brothers said: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix. Ted Sarandos, Cindy Holland, Brian Wright, and Matt Thunell took a huge chance on us and our show – and forever changed our lives.

From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together – beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!’

Of course, much talk is on whether Hopper has actually survived.
