The trailer for Netflix’s The Crown season 3, starring Oscar-winner Olivia Colman as the Queen herself, has dropped and it looks amazing.

The Crown proved to be a show that not many people thought they would like, but ended up being impeccable. Despite the outside perspective on the UK and the public’s feelings towards the monarchy, a lot of people aren’t happy that the United Kingdom is just that; a kingdom.

Nonetheless, The Crown proved to be intensely watchable, entertaining and popular and interestingly, had one of the best scores I can remember in a film or TV show.

Over time, we grew to love the cast with Claire Foy, Matt Smith and Vanessa Kirby, but now, as the Queen ages – both in real life and over the course of history – they’ve been replaced by older actors… because of course they have. I absolutely didn’t need to say that.

Who plays who?

Playing the Queen is Olivia Colman, beside her is Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.

Josh O’Connor joins the fray in what looks like excellent casting as Prince Charles, Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles and even Charles Dance as Lord Louis Mountbatten.

What is The Crown season 3 about?

The official synopsis reads:

As Queen Elizabeth II (Olivia Colman) faces a rapidly changing Britain, her family continues to struggle against the needs of the monarchy and the wants of their fracturing personal lives.

Will Princess Diana be in The Crown season 3?

Princess Diana will not be in The Crown season three, though she has been cast in order to feature in the fourth season.

While Emerald Fennell will be in season three as Camilla Parker Bowles, season four will have Emma Corrin as Diana, the late mother of Prince Harry and William, and commonly referred to as the people’s princess.

The Crown season three will be released exclusively on Netflix on the 17th of November this year, so there’s your next binge sorted.
