The managing director of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Aftab ur Rehman Rana, declares that 10 villages have been selected by PDTC from across the country as experimental rural tourist locations in Pakistan.

He stated that the PTDC had included these locations on a map of the most prominent tourist locations published by the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

He also stated in his speech that the United Nations World Tourism Organization has initiated the programme for Global Best Tourism Village to emphasise the significance of tourism to the preservation of rural areas and the landscapes that revolve around them.

As per Aftab ur Rehman, rural tourism puts an impact on the nearby areas to restore and save their customs, crafts, traditional holidays, architecture, and other distinctive activities.
