With the release of the new film Baaji, we decided take a look at the Osama Khalid Butt.

How did he rise to fame?

He is a talented actor, writer and choreographer and might I say one of the most stylish actors of Lollywood with his indie chic aesthetic. His breakout role was in Aik Nayee Cinderella aired on Geo TV. He started his career in 2005 doing theatre and worked his way up to become one of Pakistan’s top actors.

He has show exceptional acting skills in the hit TV drama “Diyar-e-Dil” as Wali Suhaib Khan as well as acting alongside the charming Ainy Jaffri in the movie “Balu Mahi”

Baaji shows a promising future of Lollywood

His work in Baaji looks exceptional and the response of the public has been great pre-release. In an article with Dawn the actor explains why he was interested in the movie and the role of Rohail:

“I was immediately on board, of course. My character, Rohail, is very different from the roles that I have played earlier and he propels the narrative forwards. He is a film director; a man of few words, tempered, focused and a little bit dangerous.”

Osman is the epitome of a theater fanatic and found acclaim in an industry he truly loves. He started his acting career in a vlog series ‘The Living Picture’ making comedy sketches, and soon he blew up.

Osman is the textbook definition of “woke”

The actor is more than just a pretty face, he is well versed in politics and isn’t afraid to voice his opinions when it comes to something, he truly believes in. He has defended fellow patrons like Mehwish Hayat and called out trolls for their bullying.

Baaji is a cast of eight top actors of Lollywood including the timeless Meera Jee. To standout in a movie with such a cast is difficult yet Osman can be seen as the suave film directors, the role completed by crisp suits and black turtle necks. He has no problem becoming the main attraction as soon as the trailer ends.
