Police have started investigating the death of model and actress Humaira Asghar. They found her decomposed body in an apartment in Defence Phase VI, Ittehad Commercial.
DIG South, Asad Raza, said police are looking at four possible causes: murder, suicide, accident, or natural death.
Although early signs point to a natural cause, only the medical report will confirm how she died.
Investigators checked her phone, laptop, and personal diary but found no important clues. They also contacted her fitness instructor to find out if she was using any supplements or fitness medication.
They inspected the apartment door. The locks worked from both inside and outside. However, no one had locked the door from the inside, and there was no sign it was bolted from the outside either.
A few months ago, the building’s watchman noticed a bad smell from the upper floors. He reported it, but residents ignored his warning. This delay allowed Humaira’s death to go unnoticed for much longer.
In the audio clip, which has surfaced on social media, Humaira is heard expressing warmth and vulnerability as she asks her friend to remember her in prayers. The veracity of it wasn’t independently verified.
“I’m so sorry, I was travelling, caught up here and there. I’m so happy tum wahan ho. Mere liye bahut saari, please apni cutie si dost/ behen ke liye dil se dua karna. For my career, dua mein zarur yaad rakhna.”(Translation: “Please pray a lot for me—your cute little friend/sister. Remember me in your prayers for my career.”)
According to Geo News, her body was found by police and a court-appointed bailiff last week while executing an order to vacate the premises. The post-mortem report stated that her head and spine were intact, but the spinal cord was missing, likely due to the extent of decomposition. The exact cause and time of death remain unknown.

more questions than answersAs per multiple reports, an autopsy was done after Humaira’s body was found. It revealed that she had likely passed away around 8 to 10 months earlier. Her body was partly mummified and had become skeletal, making it very hard for doctors to figure out exactly what happened. Forensic experts have kept samples for more tests, including toxicology and DNA checks, hoping these might give some answers later. But because of how much the body had decomposed, medical officers have so far kept their opinion reserved on the cause of her demise.
