Police have launched a thorough investigation into the death of model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered in an apartment in Defence Phase VI, Ittehad Commercial. DIG South, Asad Raza, confirmed that the investigation is being pursued from four possible angles: murder, suicide, accident, or natural death.
While initial reports suggest the cause of death may be natural, the exact reason will only be determined after the medical report. Officials mentioned that no significant evidence has been found on the deceased’s phones, laptop, or personal diary. Furthermore, a fitness instructor has been contacted to confirm if Humaira had been using any fitness-related medication.
In addition to the investigation, police found that the locks on the apartment door were functional from both inside and outside, but the door was not locked from the inside, and there was no indication that it had been bolted from the outside. It was also revealed that a few months ago, the building’s watchman had reported a foul smell coming from the upper floors, but it was dismissed by the residents, causing Humaira’s death to go unnoticed for a longer period.

In the audio clip, which has surfaced on social media, Humaira is heard expressing warmth and vulnerability as she asks her friend to remember her in prayers. The veracity of it wasn’t independently verified.

For my career, dua mein zarur yaad rakhna.”(Translation: “Please pray a lot for me—your cute little friend/sister. Remember me in your prayers for my career.”)
According to Geo News, her body was found by police and a court-appointed bailiff last week while executing an order to vacate the premises. The post-mortem report stated that her head and spine were intact, but the spinal cord was missing, likely due to the extent of decomposition. The exact cause and time of death remain unknown.

more questions than answersAs per multiple reports, an autopsy was done after Humaira’s body was found. It revealed that she had likely passed away around 8 to 10 months earlier. Her body was partly mummified and had become skeletal, making it very hard for doctors to figure out exactly what happened. Forensic experts have kept samples for more tests, including toxicology and DNA checks, hoping these might give some answers later. But because of how much the body had decomposed, medical officers have so far kept their opinion reserved on the cause of her demise.
